Conventional shelving spends most of its area on aisles nobody is standing in. File Storage Compactors put the bays on rails so only the aisle in use is open, which recovers a large share of that floor. Our systems run 300 kg to 1000 kg per bay, 4 to 6 levels, in lengths from 5 m to 12 m.
Conventional shelving spends most of its floor area on aisles standing empty. A compactor puts the bays on rails so they close together and only the aisle you are using is open, which recovers a large share of that floor. The exact gain depends on how many bays you run and how many aisles the fixed shelving needed.
Not necessarily. Rails can be embedded flush in the slab, which is neater and lets a trolley roll across, or surface-mounted on a sub-frame where cutting the slab is not acceptable. In leased or already-finished buildings, surface mounting is usually the answer.
We fit anti-tilt guides and a brake so a bay cannot be moved while the aisle is occupied. Central locking is available where the contents are confidential, which is common in hospital records, bank and legal archives.
Our systems are manual push-pull on lighter loads, or chain-driven through a handle where the loaded mass makes direct pushing impractical. Bay loads run from 300 kg to 1000 kg and systems from 5 m to 12 m in length.
Yes. The same mechanism suits spares, tooling, textiles and pharmacy stock. If the goods are palletised, pallet racking is normally the better answer; if the constraint is height rather than aisle width, look at a mezzanine floor instead.
